About Me

Hi Kimberly here!

I’m a designer from Los Angeles, now based in London. Coming from a first-gen, bicultural, and multilingual background, I’ve seen firsthand how language and subtle conditions shape the experiences of first-gen families, especially when navigating public services. That frustration is what first inspired me to study service design and explore how to better understand and navigate complex systems and emerging technology to improve the services people rely on every day. For me, lived experience is what strengthens my perspective as a designer, which is why I’m drawn to nurturing tactile, analog experiences outside of digital design. It guides me toward a human-centered design approach rooted in real understanding, not just theory.

Over the past few years, I’ve become increasingly drawn to the stories, labour, and land behind the food and materials we consume. To get closer to these journeys — how things are grown, cared for, and transformed — I’ve spent time volunteering in farms around the world. So far, this has brought me to a soybean and hibiscus tea farm in Hualien, Taiwan, a vineyard in the Gascony region of southwest France, a dairy farm producing Parmigiano Reggiano in Italy, and local regenerative farms around the UK.

I learn best by doing and in motion, and I’m always curious to take on new challenges. I’m looking for opportunities to apply my skills toward a more regenerative future. If you’d like to connect and collaborate, I’d love to hear from you. Or if you’d like to learn more about the many side paths that led me to the designer I am today, feel free to book a time below! ;)
